Fèis Rois  & National Celtic Festival

Welcome to Fèis Rois

Fèis is the Scottish Gaelic word for ‘Festival’ and Rois translates as ‘Ross’. Ross-Shire is the area of Scotland where the organisation is based. Fèis Rois is renowned for providing high quality education opportunities for young people to gain skills in traditional Scottish musical instruments, including fiddle, bagpipes, harp and accordion, as well as the Gaelic language.

The National Celtic Festival and Fèis Rois have been collaborating for the past four years and we are thrilled to have Fèis Rois working with us again this year. The group will be facilitating workshops and conducting performance in Melbourne and around the Bellarine in the lead up. The week culminated with a collaborative musical composition performed at the festival.

Fèis Rois returns this year with composer and musicians Adam Sutherland and Marc Clement who both play with Sessions A9 amongst many other musical projects. Adam and Marc will  lead the  collaborative project with young Australian musicians and compose a piece of music to be performed at the festival.
